TOPEKA—Thirteen Lawrence attorneys have applied for a vacancy on the Douglas County District Court that will occur at the end of the current term of office of Hon. Jean F. Shepherd in January. The deadline to apply was noon Friday.
The 7th Judicial District Nominating Commission will interview applicants on November 8 and then forward the names of not fewer than two persons nor more than three to the Governor, who will have 30 days in which to make an appointment.
