Specialty Court Funding Advisory Committee

Purpose

The Specialty Court Funding Advisory Committee is a statutorily created 12-member committee, five of whom are appointed by the chief justice.

The Legislature established the committee to:

  • evaluate resources available to assess and treat people assigned to specialty courts or for operating specialty courts;

  • secure grants, funds, and other property and services to operate specialty courts;

  • recommend to the judicial administrator resource allocation among specialty courts; and

  • recommend legislation and rules to aid developing specialty courts.

Meetings

The Specialty Court Funding Advisory Committee meets quarterly and meetings are open to the public. The committee sets aside time each meeting to receive public comment.

Meetings are at the Kansas Judicial Center in Topeka unless indicated otherwise. The meeting schedule is published on this page, and meetings are subject to cancellation.

The advisory committee posts approved meeting minutes as available.
